I. OVERVIEW: ‘Beautiful Tone, Beautiful Heart’ (Shinichi Suzuki)
Graduations are an important part of a child’s journey in the Suzuki Method. Unlike examinations, Graduations reflect the Suzuki philosophy and allow students to develop at their own speed step-by-step. Mastery, performing without reading (learned by listening) and a refined beautiful tone is achieved by review and repetition with the guidance and positive support of the teacher and parents. Students take part in this ‘no fail’ process by submitting their video of an entire book performed by memory and receive feedback and encouragement from their teacher and lead teachers. Video can be resubmitted as many times as needed and the Graduation Certificate is awarded after the performance is considered to be at a Good or Outstanding level.
